Line color
The logic for player and line color in plays can get a little complex. Here's how it works:
If you set a position's color in the Positions or Formations tab, players with that same label will, by default, be the same color in all formations and plays.
You can override this at the play level. So on each play, you can set the color of the player or a line and it will override the position/formation level color setting.
If you draw a line from a player, the line will inherit the player's color unless you change the color of the line.
